GENERACIÓN J 2025

Rules and Regulations

For young Uruguayan fiction screenwriters and directors.

Working JIIFF, the industry program of the José Ignacio International Film Festival, opens the call for a new edition of Generación J, a workshop created to encourage the training of professional screenwriters and directors of Uruguayan fiction who are under 32 years old. Guided by local and international experts, the selected emerging Uruguayan talents will be encouraged to think and develop their projects. José Ignacio is the meeting space to inspire stories.

Generación J will take place in person within the framework of the 15th edition of JIIFF, on January 24th, 25th and 26th, 2025 in José Ignacio, Uruguay.

Under the management and production of Working JIIFF, Generacion J offers tutorials and trainings provided by international advisors, coordinated by two regional industry professionals: Emiliano Mazza De Luca and Martha Orozco.

Generación Jproposes, to young people who are taking their first steps in the film industry, three days of training so that they can work on their projects, enhance their artistic quality and strengthen themselves professionally for the next stages of the project and their next films.

Together with the coordinators, advisors will also share their knowledge and experiences covering different fields of professional action in the development of fiction feature film projects.

They can apply both as a director and screenwriter duo, or as an individual director or screenwriter.

The Working JIIFF organization will select a total of 10 participants who will apply on this site through the online form in which they will share the characteristics of their fiction feature film project.

The meetings will take place in person at the Ana Amoedo Foundation's artist residence, Casa Neptuna, in José Ignacio.

Selected participants will be announced the last week of December. They must confirm their participation within the next three days. If you are unable to attend, the available place will be assigned to the next substitute applicant.

POSTULATION

To make the application effective, you must complete the form before Friday, December 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The application is free.

Gen J 3ra Edición

GENERACIÓN J 3RD EDITION

In the third edition, Generación J became a space legitimized by the local industry. A space that laid the foundations for the professional careers of the participants, but also for their projects that from this point on began to be recognized by other training spaces and work laboratories. In the 2024 edition, we called on pairs of directors-producers under 32 years of age to think together about the project they had in development; so that they could address it dynamically and enhance it for their next stages.
