SYNOPSIS
Anora (Mikey Madison), a young sex worker from Brooklyn, gets the chance to live her own fairy tale when she meets the son of a tycoon. The news reaches Russia, and her dreamlike story is put at risk.

BIOGRAPHY
Sean Baker, is an acclaimed American filmmaker known for his authentic portrayals of marginalized communities. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Baker gained recognition with his film Tangerine (2015), shot entirely on an iPhone, and The Florida Project (2017), earning critical acclaim for their raw, empathetic storytelling. His most recent work, Anora (2024), won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in socially conscious cinema. All of his outstanding work since has been part of JIIFF’s program since 2012.
