SYNOPSIS
12-year-old Bailey (Nykiya Adams) lives with her single dad Bug (Barry Keoghan) and brother Hunter (Jason Buda) in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time for his kids and Bailey, who is approaching puberty, seeks attention and adventure elsewhere.

BIOGRAPHY
Andrea Arnold, an acclaimed director, studied at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles and has earned numerous awards throughout her career. She won an Academy Award in 2005 for her short film WASP. Her feature films, including RED ROAD, FISH TANK, WUTHERING HEIGHTS, and AMERICAN HONEY, have received critical acclaim, with multiple Jury Prizes at the Cannes Film Festival and a BAFTA for Best British Film. Arnold also directed the HBO series Big Little Lies and premiered her first documentary, COW, at Cannes in 2021. Her latest film, BIRD, premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and marks her return to scripted features.
