We celebrated JIIFF's 10th anniversary and programmed five international feature films in competition. The opening screening was José Ignacio's Bajada de los Pescadores, and the screen opened with Bong Joon Ho's Parasite. At the same time, in partnership with Fundación Diciembre and the Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner, we launched the first edition of the JIIFF Short Film Competition, dedicated to Uruguayan productions.
As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, we also organized the first edition of Working JIIFF, our industry program, bringing together producers from Uruguay and France for three days in José Ignacio. Regarding the 10th edition, Fiona Pittaluga, director of JIIFF, said: "We want to continue making this space open to the cardinal points, to divergent points of view, to the complexity of creation, and to the grace of art."

The first edition of Working JIIFF took place in December 2019. As part of a co-production agreement signed by Uruguay and France, it brought together five French and five Uruguayan producers for three days in José Ignacio. The event was organized in partnership with the current ACAU and the Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film.
