SYNOPSIS
The world is a mystery to little Amélie (Loise Charpentier), until a miraculous encounter with chocolate awakens her insatiable curiosity. The bond she forms with her family’s housekeeper, Nishio-san (Victoria Grosbois), will lead her to discover the wonders of nature, as well as the emotional truths her family conceals after emigrating from Japan to Belgium in the postwar period.

‍BIOGRAPHY
Mailys Vallade is a director and animation artist specializing in 2D and stop-motion animation. Trained in Applied Arts and at Gobelins, she has worked on acclaimed animated feature films such as Ernest & Celestine, The Little Prince, I Lost My Body, and Calamity, excelling in storyboarding, design, and animation. Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes marks her debut as a feature film director and screenwriter.

Liane-Cho Han is a director and animation supervisor, a graduate of Gobelins. He began his career as an animator on feature films and later moved into storyboarding and animation direction on films such as The Illusionist, Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods, The Little Prince, and Calamity. Since 2017, he has collaborated with Sun Creature as an animation director. Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes is his first feature film as a director and screenwriter.
