Pfeffer del Sur Fund

Thanks to the Pfeffer Family, at JIIFF 2025 the Pfeffer Del Sur Fund of $50,000 was awarded to one of the eight feature-length fiction projects that participated in the JIIFF Lab. The jury, made up of Victoria Alonso (Argentina), Nicolás Celis (Mexico), and Renata de Almedia (Brazil), awarded the fund to Morir de Pie (Chile), by María Paz González and Giancarlo Nasi.

The Pfeffer Del Sur Fund is an incentive to strengthen the audiovisual industry in Uruguay and its international co-production relations.

As this is a Chilean project, it must be associated with a production house in Uruguay. The Uruguayan producer will receive and manage the fund and will sign a contract with JIIFF in which the deadlines for follow-up with the corresponding documentation and completion of the film will be established.

When awarding the fund, the jury valued the co-production between several countries, the status of the project and its development at JIIFF Lab.
