The Industry Program of the José Ignacio International Film Festival
Working JIIFF is JIIFF's industry space dedicated to the professional development and networking of producers, directors, screenwriters, managers, cinematographers, and other industry professionals. Leading figures from the local and international film industry meet in person to create and develop the films that will be seen in the coming years.
It is organized into the following areas: JIIFF LAB, a film project laboratory for all of Latin America, which in its 2016 edition received a very positive response from projects from multiple countries in the region, confirming the interest and diversity of perspectives that the program attracts; Generation J, a space for the development and strengthening of new stories by emerging Latin American screenwriters and directors; Uruguay HUB Audiovisual, the networking hub within an institutional framework that promotes co-production and, primarily, bringing the national industry closer to the world. And for the first time, a Master Class focusing on a key technical area of the industry, cinematography, opening a new space for meeting, training, and professional development.
In 2026, Italy joins the event with a presence that brings together public and private sector representatives, expanding the bridges of exchange and co-production between Uruguay, the region, and Europe.
Working JIIFF is a space for training, networking, collaboration, and creation.
The in-person environment of this event, combined with the unique character of José Ignacio, fosters artistic connection and inspiration. The 2026 edition builds upon the achievements of previous years: stronger and more viable co-productions, greater connection between Uruguayan professionals and the international industry, and a marked increase in emerging talent from the region.
Working JIIFF welcomed more than 50 guests between January 28 and February 1, 2026, with the aim of fostering new partnerships, promoting networking, strengthening projects, and stimulating professional exchange.
