PFEFFER DEL SUR FUND

In its upcoming edition, JIIFF Lab 2026 is proud to continue supporting the development of outstanding film projects from across Ibero-America through the PFEFFER DEL SUR FUND.

Thanks to the generous support of the Pfeffer Family, a grant of US$ 50,000 (fifty thousand US dollars) will be awarded to one fiction feature film project participating in JIIFF Lab. At the conclusion of the lab, a final pitching session will be held, during which a jury of industry experts will select one project to receive the award.

The PFEFFER DEL SUR FUND aims to strengthen Uruguay’s audiovisual industry and promote international co-productions.

If the winning project is not based in Uruguay, it must partner with a Uruguayan production company. The Uruguayan producer will be responsible for receiving and managing the fund.

In evaluating projects, the jury will give special consideration to international co-productions, the project’s current stage of development, and its progress during JIIFF Lab.

The selected Uruguayan producer will sign an agreement with JIIFF that outlines the follow-up process, required documentation, and timeline for the film’s completion
