JIIFF AWARD
The winning film in the Official Competition received a work by the French artist based in Uruguay, Max Patissier, created especially for the 16th edition of the José Ignacio International Film Festival:

About the award
"A blend of something natural—a pruning waste found in the street destined to be burned—which ends up being cut by a milling machine, a human invention to magnify the luster of this noble wood. A process done with love, worthy of this wonderful festival."
Max Patissier. Lyon, France, 1964
I always try to give new purpose to what I find, whether it's something natural or man-made. It was a wonderful challenge to transform the tree trimmings on Montevideo's Rambla into a work whose purpose is to pay homage to the mastery of a director, producer, actors, and the entire team. A film is made to dream, to entertain, to reach unexpected places. With that same approach, I created this work.
