This edition marked the return of JIIFF to the Bajada de los Pescadores after two years, and the consolidation of Pavilion VIK as the architectural space that welcomes us by the sea.
In our Feature Film Competition, we programmed six international films. In the Short Film Competition, seven Uruguayan productions were selected. Working JIIFF, our industry program, welcomed over 50 professionals from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, the United States, France, Italy, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. Meanwhile, in ¡Corte!, students from our film lab produced two short films, which were screened on JIIFF’s giant screen for friends and family.

The third edition of JIIFF's industry space brought together more than 50 participants from different countries who took part in three activities over three days: JIIFF Lab, Generation J, and Uruguay Audiovisual Hub.
The call was open to emerging directors and producers associated with a Latin American fiction feature film project in advanced development.
The workshop focused primarily on scriptwriting and production design; financing and co-production policies; project design; and pitching. Following the workshops, a pitching session was held before an appointed jury, which awarded the following prizes:
CNC Prize (Centre National du Cinématographe), France - Awarded €5,000 to Adicción (Uruguay) by Leandro Barneche, producer, and Félix Pérez, director, for its development.
DGCA-MiC Award at Cinecittà, Italy - Awarded €5,000 to Galope (Argentina) by Belén Revollo, producer, and Bruno Barreto, director, for its development.
An Industry Credential for Rio2C - To participate in the aLux Perpetua Market (Paraguay), by Federico Adorno, producer and director.
New York Film Academy Award - A scholarship for an in-person production course in New York for Belén Ballesteros.
New York Film Academy Award - Two scholarships for an online production course for Nicolas Bottero and Juan Martín Alonso.
Kaleidoskopik Award - Two mentorships for the development of two projects for Nicolás Sequeira and Facundo Umpiérrez.
In addition, the 10 producers selected to participate in Generation J 2023 received internships at Cimarrón Cine.
The meeting and strengthening of inter-institutional audiovisual relations between countries that support Uruguay in its co-production opportunities. Representatives from Uruguay XXI, ACAU, the Cooperación Regional Audiovisual de France para el Cono Sur, hub.brussels, and Screens Brussels presented.
