SYNOPSIS
Adapted from the novel The Ax by Donald E. Westlake. After 25 years as a paper-manufacturing specialist, Man-su (Lee Byung Hun) lives a contented life with his family, until he is abruptly fired. Determined to find a new job within three months, he instead spends more than a year failing interviews. Cornered by circumstance, Man-su is driven toward a decision he never imagined.

‍BIOGRAPHY
Director Park Chan-wook, a key figure in Korean cinema and the first filmmaker from the country to win three awards at the Cannes Film Festival, returns after three years with No Other Choice. Known for titles such as Joint Security Area, Oldboy, Thirst, The Handmaiden, and Decision to Leave, Park once again pushes boundaries with the story of a father abruptly cast out of the capitalist machine, whose desperate struggle creates deep emotional resonance in today’s world. According to the director himself, this film features more explicit humor than his previous works, skillfully blending humor, tension, realism, and extreme emotions to once again electrify audiences worldwide.
